Shaun Carley – Get Go album release

Shaun Carley - Get Go

Remix and electronic musician Shaun Carley who you may have heard on the well received LOSER compilation with his tracks Blast Processing and Lvl. 9 Let’s Go! has recently released his brand new album for free through his myspace page (Download in the ‘about me’ section).

The album, Get Go, is a 45 minute expanse of game inspired electronica, with tracks both adrenaline fueled and relaxing in nature. Entering with the atmospheric title track Get Go, which floats between bouncy breakbeat tunes and slightly ominous drum n bass. One of my favorite tracks is the high pitched, sound effects laden Muffin Stomp. Taking sound effects from Super Mario 3 and blending them in quite well to add another layer to the nostalgic track.

Of course the other ten tracks are no slouches either, and run a gamut of sounds, like with the laid back The Capital of Alabama or glitch infused track Carousel. The album closes strong with an ever building ride through the song Memories of You. Starting with slow dripping pace until the main melody breaks through at about the halfway mark. The song brings a reflectively upbeat orchestral sound into the mix. The song then slowly fades out instrument by instrument until we close with a lone violin.

Like I said, the album is available via myspace.com/shauncarley. Check it out yourself to hear an up and coming artist finding his own distinct style.
