So Super Smash Bros. Brawl has hit us with some news that is major for all of us folks who have invested so much time, love, and energy into our video game music. Masahiro Sakurai, creator of the Super Smash Bros. series of games announced in his first blog on smashbros.com that over 30 AMAZING video game composers are contributing to the soundtrack in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This news leaves me for one, utterly breathless. Composers from games such as Metal Gear Solid 4, NIGHTS, Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, Starfox, Meteos, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Golden Sun, Kingdom Hearts...and the list goes on with games of this calibur! For fans of VGM, I do believe the countdown for the smash bros. website did not disappoint. Sakurai has even posted a track from the upcoming game. The song is a rearranged version of the Menu 1 music from Super Smash Bros. Melee, done by Motoi Sakuraba, the composer behind the Golden Sun series.
