Splatoon 3 incoming September 9th, 2022
I have no discourse about this game. Splatoon 2 is the most played game on my Nintendo Switch, so I just felt I had to say something about the upcoming sequel. I'm mostly a single player game kind of gamer, so my love for this game came as quite a surprise, considering I live and breathe the online and have rarely touched the single player mode since the game was fresh.
The most played games on previous consoles were major solo grind endless RPGs. Think Rune Factory, Story of Seasons, or deeply replayable action games like Kid Icarus and Legend of Zelda. I'm talking about the 3DS if you hadn't noticed. The console I was most obsessed with before I grabbed a Switch.
I never had the chance to play the original Splatoon, even though I had a Wii U, so there's no excuse. People forget that when the Switch launched, the only real titles of merit were Breath of the Wild and the well rehashed Mario Kart 8. Once I got a hold of a Nintendo Switch, one of the early releases was Splatoon 2. I played it all summer, then kept playing it, and hadn't stopped until recently, since I can't just pay for Game Pass and not use it.
At the moment I'm back on my single player grind, thanks to Game Pass, my favorite thing ever since I can not find / afford the latest, top of the line PlayStation or Xbox. I crashed through a couple indie RPGs, then took on the least indie RPG, Dragon Quest, and dropped a solid 200 hours on that game. I can't wait to get back to some intense 4 v 4 action, and find a new weapon to main. Wait, I can do that right now on Splatoon 2.
I need some more Splatfests as well, and maaaaaybe we need another mode to differentiate this game from Splatoon 2? I'll place my bets on a Splatoon single player reveal and a tease on the new mode come the June Nintendo Direct. Stamp this obvious prediction in the books boys.
